I've learned to put sets together even if they are all different heights, for this very reason!!
-
It never occurred to me to tuck the wheel away when not in use!!

So much of my studio storage was found by the side of the road and other salvage. Love it.

I love those tackle boxes for organizing stamps and other tiny tools.

Oooooooooh clever girl

I find it very wise of you to market across a broad age bracket. Smart indeed. Besides, the little guy is rather cute.
Thanks! I wouldn't have thought of making little animals but I started it for my son and from there it's a slippery slope.

very clever. i love building houses but you can keep the drywalling, i have done enough of that tedious job.
After last summer I had a new appreciation for people who install drywall and apply plaster. I plastered just one wall and my arms and shoulders were on fire for a week. It was exhausting. I kept thinking, "If I was getting paid for this job I would quit!" LOL

This is so smart!! I was wondering how on earth you could do it on your own. My dad and I drywalled half the studio last year and it was a pain with TWO people!

I love this!!!

These are so whimsical and full of charm!

Wish I had some artistic talent, but I do not. Great detailing work.
You can't tell me that mixing crystalline glazes does not take artistic talent! Maybe a different style. My husband makes absolutely beautiful spreadsheets for his job. I think that's a different talent than say painting a mural but still a wonderful skill. And something not everybody is good at!

I knew this would be your favorite! Don't ask me how. LOL

Wonderfully detailed slip trailing!

Very very nice slip work!

Love the subtle contrast of color, line and smoothness in the bowls. Very nice. Very nice handles. Looks like you got a handle on this, nuk nuk nuk.
Thank you! This was the first time I did handles like this and now this is what I do on my pie plates. The ruffled type of edge takes up a lot of clay really and it wasn't "me". This is kind of Art Deco, I love it.

LOL Thank you, Mark! This item actually sold from being in the background of an Instagram photo the day after I threw it. Someone spotted it in its' totally unfinished form and said, I must have that! Kind of crazy.
Beautiful. You did very well. This is a nice touch. Someone will cherish it for many generations. Congratulations on all your hard work. It has paid off.
Now, hurry, hurry, no time to waste, more stuff to make and make it you will. lol. Sorry, this just popped in my head.

Joseph, it's a Scott Creek Super Duper clay gun or something like that. I am really liking it for handles. They're becoming much more consistent. And I like that they have a bit of their own texture. I plan to do an extruder scope soon if you go on periscope.

Thanks, Mark! I used the larger one yesterday and it was very nice overall! I've recently started using a clay gun for the handles so they feel better in the hand, a little more balanced with the size of the mug.

giselle, i posted comments on several of these beautiful photos of your amazing work but they have disappeared or something else happened to them.
Oh no! Well I'm sorry I missed them.

I'm not a big fan of quotes, but my wife's family has quotes everywhere in their house, so I can't attest to how good or bad it would make the pot sell. Some people would love it, others like me might think it would take away from the pot. You would have to just A/B test it and see if it even matters, might get even sales for both in which case some with quotes and some without would be the best market.
I have no idea on the hangers, do a lot of people hang stuff up in their kitchens these days? My mother used to have a plate that hung in the kitchen when I was a boy.
I'm not super fond of quotes either! But people like them so I thought I might try it. I've done a wedding date before but that level of customization is super stressful so I don't want to do it again. I do remember that my mom had a set of dishes with recipes in them that I really liked but I think I would have to do an iron oxide decal for that.
I have no idea if people still hang plates but I've been planning to make a set of platters that are intended to double as wall decor in my dining room.

I had thought about making these with a quote inside; and/or with wall hangers of some kind on the back so they can be displayed on the wall when not in use.

The only problem with this pot is no one wants to use it as a pie plate because its just to darn beautiful to look at.
Your decorations go leaps and bounds each kiln load. Keep up the hard work, it is showing.
Joseph, these are some of the nicest things anybody has ever said to me about my work. Thank you so much.

Giselle, are you dipping or brushing?
Sorry, somehow I missed all these comments! This is brushed. I've used Stoned Denim dipped but it gives more of a uniform look, a lighter, more solid blue. I love the random streaks of brown mixed in with the blue so even though I just purchased 5 lbs of it I still plan to brush it on.

But you know what, Sydney? I like that the bottle is different from the cups. It works. I think if it was one or two cups a different color it would seem more like a flaw. Since the cups are all the same color and only the bottle (which is already different) is the color that's more red, I find the effect very pleasing!
