Carved poppy tumbler in Slate Blue, Side B

GiselleNo5

This one has the addition of iron oxide on just the flowers, stems and leaves, but I felt like it added very little so I won't bother next time. The glaze on its' own has a lovely break and brings out the design beautifully.

Is this the first time you tried adding iron ox this way. I do not know a lot, so I make stuff just to see how it will turn out. If it works I make a not and picture. If not it sits on a shelf till someone likes it.

Your do very nice carvings.

Thanks Mark! No, I use iron oxide a bit. I have a hard time getting the mixture right. This was 50% oxide, 50% water and still did not do anything exciting in my opinion.

There is nothing like the feeling of carving leather hard clay.
