    New mug design

I am never opposed to experiments. Thanks for the suggestion. I do intend to do this. And since I need to make so many more, I have to.
  3. From the album: New 10-14-16

Carved with pencil. This mug was the first, so I have added more to the other mugs. I am using a lotus for the design with each petal having some motifs of Peace, Love (heart), Namaste, Vegan and scrolling vines with butterflies. Added my name, logo and Buster stamp on a petal in instead of the bottom, where I carved the spirit symbol. Any suggestions are welcome, please. I was thinking of trying different glazing techniques. I'm open to any ideas. It is a Bee Mix 5 white body, no sand. I fire to ^6.

Wow! you are hard at work. I heard it can be difficult to get crystals to work well. Look like you mastered it. Very nice.

glazenerd, you're right about looking at other artist. And I did see a post here that led me to learn about Rick Hintze. I love his work. But I am always afraid of doing work like someone else. I feel guilty. And have you been to Joseph's website. He has such a gift. I love how he has come along and made great progress in glaze and pottery style of his own. He must have some Japanese potter blood. Inspired. :)

alabama, yup, I'm going this way then that way. My noodles have been fried and MIA. But I hear you and Giselle. I do need to make notes and settle on one thing at a time. I guess it would be better to do a lot of one thing, than a whole lot of nothing. Thanks.

Soon the Rhino will be extinct, but at least we will have this to remember how amazing they were. I'm sorry, it's saddens me, because I have seen the killings. It's so horrid. And I can't hold back my emotions.

I think you should try a red iron wash, sponged and then clear glazed. What cone are you firing to? Or try a darker underglaze to give more contrast.

  14. Man, did you know that uncooked corn on the cob is so good? I love it. No salt or butter needed. Very sweet yellow organic corn. Yum.

I grow some in the garden. I boil it in water with a stick of butter and some milk. Adds to the flavor.
