Finally, after many ,many practice sessons , I finally threw a big bowl that looks like it should.. weight is between 12 to 14 lbs with a diameter of 17.5'' ... practice is paying off

I wonder if I leave extra cookies and milk out for Santa if he'll bring along some elves to clean up the studio. *big sigh*

I was showing a lady my son's soda fired work at the pop-up market yesterday. She seemed truly interested. Then she asked, "Coke, or Pepsi?" It took me a second before I cracked up

First time to run a FaceBook Ad to promote a pop-up gift market...pretty pleased so far. I'll post full report later.

It is end-of-the-semester Crunch Time...when students finally realize that firing isn't done in a microwave and wet clay doesn't turn into glazed ware overnight.

Today is firing day for the Bailey car kiln...what some people won't do to warm up a studio, right?

June will be recorded as a bust for me in terms of clay production, but I will have a great pond to sit by as I work...anxious to get my hands muddy again though.

I wish something that I love would come out of the kiln. But I think the "jinx" is taking photos of work before it goes in for bisque firing! Everything I show off doesn't make it! The stuff I don't photograph is FINE! So weird!
