Pass Thru Fire
I am trying to apply black wax on lines but can't get a thin enough line to make me happy. I've tried a number of brushes but am not getting as fine as I want and am looking for any and all suggestions on applying very thin lines. Mark C.
Use auto pin stripe tape to control line thinkness. Mark
oldlady
if what you want is needle fine lines of color, wax wide strips and draw the lines with a needle through the wax. then cover the lines with your brush strokes of color and wipe off the excess. Babs
Apply clear wax, scratch through this with a needle or stylus of some sort. Apply black slip to waxed/scratched area, wipe off leaving the black in the fine lines thus scratched.

Mark C.
How about using the wax in a small glaze applicator like these http://www.aftosa.com/artistic-line-resist-glaze-piping-kit/ Mark

alabama
Hey, I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the black wax. I went to a Makenzie Smith site and didn't see any "fine lines" related to your needs. If you're trying to do some kind of fine wax resist lines, try the tube waxing with liquid wax, or make a brush with 3 or 4 bristles about 2 inches long and use it the same method as incised trailing, dragging it across the vessel, like the Pueblo or San Alfonso do, or experiment with wax soaked kite string, tack it in place then put the heat from a hair dryer on it. Good luck. Alabama
