Min
Anybody ever try using liquid latex body paint as a resist on bisque or glaze? I noticed they sell it at Party City and it's a fair bit cheaper than the liquid latex I can get from our local Michaels Crafts.

Marcia Selsor
I use it. I have been using latex since the early 90s, but I found the makeup latex to be less expensive on eBay...especially colored latex. Marcia.
MatthewV
I wonder if it is different from the latex I have for watercolor painting. The label makes the price, not the product!
Marcia Selsor
Not sure if it is misket, I don't think so. These are rubber latex and thicker. I thin it to brush it on. Marcia
Benzine
I have tried using the latex resist, used for watercolor. It works well, but uses way too much, and those jars are tiny. I don't go through too much of the stuff, so I just buy the normal stuff from my ceramic supplier.
Min
Thanks everyone! I’m trying to avoid having it shipped right now because of freezing weather, so was looking for alternatives. Party City has liquid latex for 20- for 16 oz. (my local ceramic place doesn’t carry latex) Thanks Marcia for letting me know you use something similar and it works. I’ll pick up some of the Party City stuff and if it works I’ll post back here.
Marcia Selsor
I get it on eBay. Marcia
AndyL
I use Mold Builder by Casting Craft.. It's an amonia based formula so don't leave it in you car during freezing temperatures. Just put a few drops of food coloring in it to see it better and pretreat your brush with a thin application of soap so it will wash out easily
