neilestrick
A wiring diagram sure would be nice! Can the manufacturer get one to you? High Bridge Pottery
MartinC
Have called Kilns & Furnaces to try and get a diagram neilestrick
MartinC
Looks like a safety override. Kiln errored with one hour of starting. Have disconnected it and am trying again Bill Kielb
High Bridge Pottery
I wonder why it is overriding the firing. hmm The controller seems to be switching on and off the brown wire going to the weird black box and then that is switching the contactor. I wonder if you could just attach that brown wire to the coil instead of the yellow coming from the box as they both seem to be 240v. Just jump the red to yellow at that switch to remove its function from the circuit. Supervise the firing for sure though. If it is wired as fail safe then the kiln will fire. If it triggers a lockout, then it will be locked out to start. Edited February 14, 2023 by Bill Kielb
MartinC
So, with safety override in place, kiln errored at about 200oC. With it unplugged, kiln has now fired twice without error so Im think that's where the problem lay. It is superficial as the safety override now comes from the controller so I think the mystery is solved. Thank you to everyone for your engagement and help. neilestrick, High Bridge Pottery and Bill Kielb
