Studio 3000 controller displaying the number 8?

Recommended Posts

If it’s a rampmaster controller then it appears to be failing to heat. If this is your control, see page 25 for error messages https://www.evenheat-kiln.com/_files/ugd/3a9418_dce6fa97f33440018c41576febe9e5f4.pdf

If not you can usually find manuals on the net for a specific controller. Just need to know who really makes the control.

just the number 8!

From first principles, rather than from any relevant knowledge ...

1. If it had been Err8 or whatever, this would definitely have been the wrong manual:
https://www.kilns.com.au/manuals/IPCOStudio3000Manual.pdf

2. I suspect that the absence of a prefix means that it's not an error message  for any controller. So maybe it's not time for a manual hunt (although I would recheck the name on your controller).

3. So I would start looking really hard at the During the Firing section of the manual (p4...). With the suspicion that you have inadvertently  got the display into one of the minor modes (or some sort of glitch has done it for you).
