ogsauce
Hi there! I've been desperately trying to find a manual or a technician to swap out the bearings for my CI MP wheel. I called Speedball (they bought CI) and some local ceramic studios and they weren't able to be of much help. Does anyone know how to swap out the bearings or have a manual? neilestrick
I can't give you specific instructions, but assuming this is built like most wheels, typically everything is held together with set screws and bolts, and on most wheels it's fairly obvious how they go together once you get a good look at them. I'd start by removing any parts connected to the shaft, like the fly wheel and wheel head, so you can see how the bearings and shaft are assembled and mounted to the body. Hulk
Manual posted here Anyone Have A Really Old Creative Industries Model Mp Wheel? - Studio Operations and Making Work - Ceramic Arts Daily Community ...not much help on bearing replacement, however. Analysis and disassembly, as Neil has suggested, eh?
Mark C.
I think you need to be a bit creative on taking things apart-follow Neils lead and get all that you can off the shaft and off the wheel head. You can post some photos and we can talk you thru it as well.
