Smokey2
I think I used 3124 instead of 3134 when mixing my liner glaze, but I'm not sure. It wasn't until I started to mix my second batch of another glaze and went to grab 3134 that I began question myself. I guess a test tile is the next step to see what happens when it fires, dang
liambesaw
Use glaze software to see how different it is. Depends on the specific recipe how much of a difference it can make. The two frits are similar. One just has no alumina.
Smokey2
I was just doing that with insight, it is close, closer still if I add a pinch of 3134 to the batch. EPK is the main supplier for alumina

Callie Beller Diesel
3124 has the alumina, so if your glaze has effects that are dependent on how the glaze flows while melted, that might be lessened because it'll be a bit stiffer. Or it might not matter that much. I did something similar once, and it turned out ok.
Smokey2
Thanks Callie I look at it this way, I have a 50/50 chance of it being right or it being ok. I'm still going to test first because I'm curious and have a new test kiln to try out.

Ran everywhere, what a mess! Everyone liked it better cause now they could get creative. Go figure!
