OEY3
In aquiring a number of dry powders in relatively large quantity, I am seeking advise on how to identify some that are unlabled. I'm talking about tin oxide, white underglaze pigment., etc. Is there a simple, safe, quick, test to ID these powders?
liambesaw
No, you'll go through a process of elimination. There's another recent thread on here that is exactly the same, go ahead and read that one it's full of great info Edit:

MFP
Go to my thread. PeterH came up with several links.....including flame tests and a glaze recipe that would differentiate between whiting and dolomite. I am currently doing a loss on ignition test in my bisque.
