That blows my mind. I would have never thought this possible if I hadn't seen it with me own eyes. Amazing. You got me thinking. Thanks Mark. If you had been doing crock pots, that woulda been a lot of crock, hehe.
Marko
I did the full shelf thing on the bottom. I had to add a wad under one side. I used a small level to get it right. If you look at my picture you can also see that I drew two lines using a half self using a underglaze pencil. I then added squares were the post would sit. I also did this to the floor of the kiln to be able to line it up. I used 6 post under the full and then 3 and 3 for the half shelfs. It all work out fine in the first bisque fire of this setup. I will repeat with a cone 6 fire. Thanks everyone for building my confidence to try new things.
Pres
I cheat anymore Mark. I have a phone app on my phone that has a bubble level on it. Put it on the shelf, instantly tells me where to raise. It is a great app for all sorts of things around the house or studio. best, Pres
Marko
Thanks Pres., It's amazing what phone apps can do. I wish I had one that could cook, Ha! And do some trimming.
MatthewV
You can mark the brick of the kiln wall with a little iron oxide for where you put the posts. Leaves a visible mark and causes no damage.
