Alabama...we're you the one person reading my blog?...lol
-
So how does French pottery compare to
The USA and Canada?

Can't say really. I expected to see some at Montmarte, but all of the artist I encountered were painters. One studio in the small stone village of Olargue was closed for lunch (12p-2:00p - gotta love those hours). I did find a road side gallery that was on par with what finds in the US...but my sampling was very small. So, I need to go back for a bigger sampling!

Finally getting a bisque firing completed today. Too many distractions these past three months.

I was in Toronto recently and was able to visit the Gardiner Museum. Besides there wonderful collection of many of my personal post war clay influencers, the had an exhibit of three artist expressing ideas relative to "###### identity through clay". The gift shop was selling a T-shirt that had "Clay is So Gay" on the front. A must see museum for any fans of the clay medium if you find yourself in Toronto.

Red letter day yesterday. 25 days from having my knee replaced I was able to go into the studio and throw for a few hours. I'm becoming human again!

Surgery Tuesday to replace my entire right knee. Rehab began yesterday. It looks hopefully be released today. Will work the old flywheel kickwheel into rehab routine when I can. Oh the drugs are so good. Sings "what a drag it is getting old" ( showing my age too)

I am glad the surgery went well and that you are feeling all right. Best wishes for a quick recovery!

Rehab is the key factor on the outcome-do it no matter what.
-
Ah man, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Two knee operations, rehab, a hectic work schedule, and the fact that the site doesn't allow me to sign in using my tablet...it has been a while since I posted. It has also been a while since I worked in the studio...but 2017 is another year. Looking forward to getting my hands in wet clay again. Happy Holidays

While in DC recently I was able to spend a few hours at the Freer/Shackler Museum of Asian Art. The exhibit "Chigusa and the Art of Tea" is worth a look. It is a small exhibit but informative. The Freer is a wonderful treasure in the capital. The permanent collections are eye candy.
