apply the slip to greenware then the shellac and resist process. Bisque and glaze then fire. Slip comes through the glaze.

That is an interesting looking kiln and perfect solution for alternative firing techniques. GOOD FIND!

I think about 8-10? pounds for the bigger one.

I am still experimenting. Raised the shelf 1 inch, raised the size of the chamber by 1 brick, lowered the firing temperature and slowed the firing down a little.
Same chemicals as always.

It does have 2 inches of insulation but I think it is best to keep it away from ground dampness by using cinderblocks and firebricks.

Nice. I made the holes in the 1/2 gas line that intersected the larger pipe. This looks better. Good job.

It is cute...and light. I have 2 handles to add to the sides for simple lifting.

Sprayed the fiber with sodium silicate to keep it from shedding.

I agree with you that the light piece is too pale. The darker one is very lovely.
