The raku kiln fro Brackers is much like this design. David Sturm, the designer, has the flu over the burner port rather than in the lid. I fired some of these during my workshop at Brackers and also during the taping of my dvd at Acers. It is a good design and you can use the flu to watch the glazes.

I have seen bigger tinajas and huge kilns for them.
These are for making wine. Valdepenas is famous for red tape wine. The old highway is lined with these tinajas.
