Also use a damp washcloth or sponge when you store it and cover the exit hole if it doesn't have the cover.

that looks right. It works fastest if you don't overpack the hopper. Keep adding slowly and consistently as the wager feeds the machine.

Yes, but it is easy for it to go shiny if a little hotter.

This kiln got a second layer of insulation bricks. the Chimney stack went to about 6 feet above the arch.

The pattern is from stretching out the surface after it has dried a little with sodium silicate on it.

thats one of those I dropped into the mix. I retrieved it quickly. The other larger one came out too light. Will retire. I need better tongs.If you get those designed ones made, Ill take a pair. I don't like the scratches mine are making.

They are all porcelain. The red one is a combination of ferric chloride and iron sulphate and fired several times. I am addicted. I have a small mural project to get done but would rather be doing these.
I have to make some small ones for trading at NCECA.

Look behind me. The photo of me in red is making the capital for the photo to the left.Total height was 42" I think.The 2 columns are green shown in the previous view in the studio with one on the table and the other on the floor.
