7 Spot Pottery
Hi all any advice would be much appreciated: my old Podmore Alsager wheel has started to run oddly (slows or catches on every turn) i can’t see any obvious problems inside it but I have zero knowledge on what I’m looking for to solve the problem! heres a link to a video of it on my instagram (video file is too big to upload on here) https://instagram.com/p/BoyPhQrHwxD/

neilestrick
First take the belt off and see if the motor runs smoothly. If it does, then the problem is with the belt slipping or a loose pulley. If the motor isn't running smoothly, then the problem is likely in the electronics. It looks like it is a belt problem from the regular timing of the thumping. Since belts are so inexpensive, I would start there. JohnnyK
liambesaw
Kinda looks like a bearing issue, hard to say. Does it spin freely without the belt attached?
