Problem with Podmore Alsager wheel

Recommended Posts

Hi all

any advice would be much appreciated:

my old  Podmore Alsager wheel has started to run oddly (slows or catches on every turn)

i can’t see any obvious problems inside it but I have zero knowledge on what I’m looking for to solve the problem!

heres a link to a video of it on my instagram (video file is too big to upload on here)

First take the belt off and see if the motor runs smoothly. If it does, then the problem is with the belt slipping or a loose pulley. If the motor isn't running smoothly, then the problem is likely in the electronics.

It looks like it is a belt problem from the regular timing of the thumping. Since belts are so inexpensive, I would start there.
