AndreaB
Good Morning,Afternoon, Evening to all, Happy New Year and sending out positive energies to all potters out there. I thought I'd share my progress through 2015 with those interested. I started throwing in October 2014 but had a long break until Fed of 2015. I got my kiln in February and did my first firing then. My first successful glaze Making progress From my last firing of 2015 And now 2016 awaits. Hopefully my back will co-operate better this year and I'll be able to progress further. My aim - to throw tall shaped vases/bottles and of course platters, mugs etc.....

jeddy
I really love your work! I'm a beginner also so I'm curious as to what glazes you used. Can you give me a rundown?

AndreaB
I really love your work! I'm a beginner also so I'm curious as to what glazes you used. Can you give me a rundown?Hi Jeddy,The glazes I used are only available in Johannesburg, South Africa, but here's how I did it. I did a first dip in a matt beige. The second dip was a dark brown. I then scraped down the glazes to thin down. This gave the variation in color. When I threw the pot I made the lines that you see with the dark brown, and by scraping down these lines remained. The thumbnail shows what the inside looks like.
