Liner Glaze Crazing

Does anyone have a liner glaze recipe that works well with Aardvark B Mix 5(no sand). I have been using a recipe called Naragon White.  I am getting crazing. I am concerned because the mugs I am making are for a local coffee shop.

EPK                           8

Nepheline Syenite   31

Whiting                      6

Gertsley Borate       26

Dolomite                    4

Silica                       25

                              100

Zircopax                   12

Bentonite                   2

If the glaze doesn't fit you must acquit

Diid glaze work in the past?

Did clay or glaze change recently.

Did your firing schedule change?

How are you doing quality control on kiln? eg. Witness cones......

If it's worked in past , I'd test to find out why it's not now working.

Prolly not he answer you're looking for........

Other wise upping silica in glaze (starting @ 5% increments) may help..... But even that requires considerable testing.

(It's much to early or is it late to get into. COE.)

I use Glossy Base Glaze 1 from Mastering Cone 6 Glazes  on a clay body that does seem to give crazing with several other glazes.

G200                                  20

Ferro Frit 3134                   20

Wollastonite                       10

EPK                                    20

Talc                                    11.5

Silica                                  18.5

To this I add:

Bentonite                             2

Carboxy Methyl Cellulose   1

Zircopax                              10

I tend to make small batches (small studio and I'm addicted to testing glazes) and brush them on.  The bentonite and CMC help make glazes brushable.

Thanks Venicemud, I will have to get into the addition mode or at least make more efforts to test glaze. I just made a test tile ring on my wheel. Found it on Pinterest. I believe I have Mastering Cone 6 Glazes. So I will look for this recipe.
