from george and nancy wettlaufer's book "getting into pots" page 127 CLEAR MATTE

C6W.....(w for wollastonite) Cone 6

Kona soda spar.......................33

ball clay (C&C is very white).....25

zinc oxide...............................12

wollastonite............................30

the recipe does not call for bentonite but i bet one of our glaze gurus will know if it would help. i think i used 2% when i made this glaze last year. it really is a clear, smooth, matte glaze.

because of the zinc oxide i do not use it over green slips or underglazes. they will turn grey.

this one is also a great CLEAR glaze but you may have trouble getting Cornwall stone. it also changes green to grey.

SATIN MATTE Cone 6

dolomite...............20

cornwall stone......60

EPK....................20

for those of you not in the usa, EPK is Edgar Plastic Kaolin. see posts re this stuff...
