bont
Hello, I ran out of wax resist and did not want to buy more because of pricing, been using paraffin with mineral spirit as an alternative but found it annoying that I would have to reheat it to use. Is there a cheap alternative for wax resist that is ready to use whenever, without needing to reheat. Thanks.
PeterH
A little more detail (and perhaps a picture) would help the experts decide what's the best option for you. Some suggestions in this thread Hulk
Hulk
An electric heater may help. We use electric "crock pots" to melt wax for bicycle chains, e.g. New, this type of unit starts at $20+ (US dollars), however, we found used ones at local thrift stores for less than $10... Callie Beller Diesel
Usually the good liquid wax emulsions do tend to be more expensive than the ones that tend to pill. The paraffin will be less expensive, and I second Hulk’s idea about a crock pot or an old rice cooker used to keep it warm.
