Ariel23
Hey there! I recently bought a used Evenheat Rampmaster II 2322 kiln. It’s my first time with a computerized kiln. I did a Fast Bisque program test fire with an empty kiln to 06 and it seemed to be working well but after 3 hours it had an Error 1 code and it said the temp it turned off was around 1400. I figured it was old elements bc they look kind of worn but I tested them with a multimeter tool and the Ohms weren’t that high, only about .25 to .5 ohms higher. When I opened up the kiln though, the Cone 06 witness cone was completely melted in a blob to the shelf. If it only is reading 1400 but obviously went way past Cone 06, so you think this is a thermocouple issue? Looking at the thermocouple I don’t see a ton of wear on the tip or anything obvious. This is my first digital kiln experience and I need help. I’ve tried contacting Evenheat but haven’t heard back yet and I’m not sure what their tech support is like. Thanks for any and all diagnostic help!
JohnnyK
Welcome to the Forum, Ariel...Are you sure it was ^06 and not ^6, and are we talking F or C temps? What does the owner's manual indicate for the Error 1?
neilestrick
@Ariel23 I suggest changing the title of your post to better reflect the content so you get more replies. Definitely check the program and see if you accidentally put in cone 6 instead of 06. If the controller said it only got to 1400F but it melted cone 06 to a blob, then check if the controller is set for F or C, and also check to make sure it's set to the correct type of thermocouple that you have.
