Marker for wet clay that burns away during firing

Howdy All,

I'm looking to do some stamping on cast porcelain while it's still in the mold. I'd like to brush on a guide line to make that process easier and was wondering if anyone has any tips on the best way to go about that. I'll probably start some tests with a dark food colouring, unless anyone has a better suggestion?

Food colouring works great.

I use powdered graphite diluted in water to brush guide marks for berry bowl holes, and that burns off in the bisque quite nicely. I use red clay and need something darker than food colouring. It can be a bit dusty if you use too much though.

A marker will just gum up with the clay, so something that brushes on would work best, like food coloring or india ink.
