Retxy
Oh my. I forgot to add grog to my clay to make it suitable for raku. Can someone tell me if there is any chance of success firing small pieces ( think 4 inch bonsai pot sized) of work that has no grog in it? Thanks!! Mark C.
it all depends on what kind of clay body it is to begin with?-You did not say what it is?
LinR
I have always used my regular cone 6 clay for Raku. No grog, just careful joining of parts. Lin Babs
Retxy
It's a low fire vitreous cone 06 clay from a book I read!! Thank you both!!!!
Mark C.
Low fire clays tend to be tight bodies -so its risky at best. If the pots are made try them if not wedge in some grog. Also made during the raku process try and temp shock them less. Rae Reich and Callie Beller Diesel
