Crooked Lawyer Potter
My scrap bucket is smelly. Slightly sewer'y smell. I think I understand that it will not affect the clay's performance -- but is there a way to cure or prevent the smell?
Russ
Ive used a bit of bleach added to the clay in the pugmill....to kill the bacteria IF it becomes unbearable. On the other hand the bacterial breakdown of organic matter adds plasticity.
Min
Hydrogen peroxide works too if you are sensitive to chlorine bleach or don't like the smell of it.
Callie Beller Diesel
+1 for peroxide. Just throw a shot of it in the bucket, and it’ll take the stink down until more stuff grows.
Chilly
Treat it like Covid. Wear a mask and don't get within 2 metres !!
kswan
My reclaim bucket gets really stinky too, but it goes away once it gets dried back to working consistency. I don't bother doing anything about it.
