PaulinaL
Hello! I recently found a VERY old box of Great Lakes Buff B Clay. Great Lakes Clay out of Chicago has since gone out of business, but i have no idea what come to fire the clay to. I assume Buff is a cone 6. Anyone know ? oldlady
if it is still in a box with a label, look for the cone number. sometimes they are printed differently than the usual sales pitch box. look for a rubber stamp ink with half inch high numbers. you might ask bill kielb since he lives there. neilestrick
I never used Great Lakes Clay so I can't say for sure, but every clay body I've seen around here called Buff is a cone 5/6 body. To be sure you could fire a tile to cone 5/6 and test it for absorbency.
