KRenee
We want to surprise a friend getting her MFA in ceramics by purchasing a bread maker but don’t have a clue what features or brand to look for. All help welcome.
Pyewackette
Umm, you mean like the thing that kneads and bakes bread? Zojirushi. Otherwise I'm not sure what is meant by "bread maker" as it pertains to clay. *In my capacity as a former baker. I stopped baking when I turned up diabetic - carbsnono*
Hulk
Hi Renee! If your friend is in the market for a clay mixer (or a "pug mill"*), likely better if she were involved with the choice; it's not a small decision - several grand $$! There are several threads archived here on mixers and/or pug mills. You might start by looking at the Peter Pugger, Shimpo, Bluebird, Bailey, Venco... *In general: a clay mixer is for mixing clay - add the ingredients, water, go; a pug mill can mix, also remove air bubbles, then extrude a "pug" of clay!
