Ceramic Clay Slip

Recommended Posts

Hi There!

You might provide some detail (to narrow it down some); if not the particular product (which you were using prior) that has been reformulated, perhaps

  firing temperature(s),
  products/wares,
  glazes,
  problems ("...no longer working..."),
  processes,
  and etc.

The more eggs-act, the better, eh?

Is the reformulated product using a different talc?
The magnesium being rather important ...if not, what materials are being used in the place of magnesium?

By "...mix ourselves." do you mean add water to?
Are you willing/able to measure ingredients, then add water and mix?

I'm only using slip from the stoneware clays I'm throwing, a) scraped from my hands, then collected in a bowl to use for fastening handles later on, all clays, and b) blunged with a blender, sieved to remove sand, then allowed to dry a bit - for brushed on accents and brushed on sgraffito layer, red clay.
...just curious, and trying to be helpful.
