JJB
Can I put an oxide wash over unfired glazes of different colours on a piece of bisque pottery - in order to bring out nooks and crevices of texture?
oldlady
i think it should go under the glaze. oxides rubbed into crevices and wiped off broad surfaces are normally done directly onto the bisque and a glaze covers the entire thing. some people fire the oxide on and fire to bisque again, others glaze and fire after the oxide dries enough to accept the glaze. if you wipe oxide on top of a glaze, you wipe the glaze off. if you put a title on this question, others will be able to answer you. just replace your name with a question.
