Convert Brent wheel from 220 to 110

Help! I recently purchased a Brent Model B wheel off eBay that is wired for 220v for the UK. I naively thought I could just buy a transformer and voila! I tried that and now it wants to electrocute me. Does anyone know how to convert it to 110v? The motor seems to be the same for US and UK which would suggest it’s possible but I am not sure.

I would first Call  Amaco/Brent  technical

ask them-the controller and motor are wired for 220 and you wnat to know how to convert it to 110v

Other thoughts are most homes have 220 you could wire an outlet just for this wheel

you could buy an quality step up transformer 110-220v

The best option is call Brent and ask how to make it run on 110V

Depending on how old it is, it could just be a jumper on the controller.  Worst case scenario you'll need to buy a new cord, and controller which is extremely pricy if you get it from brent.  If you're comfortable with electronics you can just hack a new kb electronics controller into it.
