Aslo
Hi, with the COVID pandemic I’ve lost all access to wheel and kiln. I’ve had tons of clay, Rods Bod and terracotta in my storage just sitting around so I recently started hand building some vessels and basic pots. I read that beeswax can waterproof clay?? I’ve never heard of this. Can I use these pots for plants or possible candle vessels? Or will the clay melt with the hot wax? Just looking to keep my hands busy as I miss ceramics. But also don’t see the point of a ton of green ware around if I can’t fill the vessels.
liambesaw
Give one a try and see! No matter what though one little bang and it's in 100 pieces, greenware just isn't very durable
LeeU
I don't know how it would look, but I bet a liquid rubber product like Flex-Seal would waterproof the pots. Maybe enamel or acrylic paint underneath the clear sealant would look cool.
James Beasock
First question. Does green ware have a shelf life? I have some pieces that were my Aunts, I know it’s been a long time sitting in a cabinet not painted. Thanks for your response.
