What foods, if any, are safe in a low fired vessel?   Specific ally,  can I keep tea bags in one?  Fruit like apples or peaches?   Thank you

Yes, what is the reason for the title?

As for you question, is the piece glazed or unglazed? If it's glazed, and the glaze is not crazed, then it's water tight. As long as the glaze is food safe and not going to leach anything dangerous, then you can put any food you want in it. If it's unglazed, then it isn't water tight, and should only be used with dry foods that won't seep into the porous clay.
