AndreaB
Hi all, I've just seen that my local suppler has stock of the Amaco Crystallex brush on glazes. The specs say to fire to cone 5. I use high fire stoneware and I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on the ramifications of firing to cone 5 instead of cone 6 as I normally do. May thanks, Andrea
glazenerd
Lots of potters fire to cone 5 with extended holds to produce a cone 6 melt. Not uncommon. Nerd
neilestrick
They'll work fine at cone 6, they'll just flow a little more.
NancyAmores
Are you certain that the Crystallex glazes are cone 6? The Amaco website lists them as 05 though I've heard of other low fire glazes going to cone 6 ok. Might want to test first--
