AndreaB
Hi everyone, thought I'd let you know that I've found that a chamois placed directly onto a wet wheel head and a bat placed over the top works just like using a bat gripper. You can remove the bat easily, the chamois holds the bat securely in place. I introduced my teacher to this method and she now uses it in preference to throwing a chuck. It even works for trimming, no more lugs of clay around the top of the piece.
Joseph Fireborn
This is interesting. Neat find. I will have to give it a shot for trimming.

Magnolia Mud Researdh
open weave drawer liners come in rolls about 12 inches wide or 18 inches wide and are available from home improvement and/or hardware stores. cut to fit your wheel head and/or bat. They are also good to keep ware boards from slipping while working on the table. LT
