bdswagger
Awhile back I saw a vid of a pottery artist who does primarily hand built functional work, then finishes the pieces on the wheel. Such as rims or foot on plates and bowls. I really liked the idea, as I can't shape on the wheel, because I have micro-cracks through out my ribs, hence not able to compress the clay. Does anyone know anything about this kind of work? I would really like to see more vids, but can't find the one I originally watched.
Bob Coyle
I have seen plans and you-tube videos on centering jigs that you can build or buy. You might check out on the web. There are lots of potters with physical issues that have devised a work around.
clay lover
A friend got the Strong Arm tool, loves it. But she already had major throwing skills. Arthritis was catching up,though.
GiselleNo5
There's an awesome video of doing this, I will find it tomorrow. If I forget remind me.
GiselleNo5
I'm going to do this with plates because I just love a foot on my pieces, so I've been doing research.
bciskepottery
You can use hump molds with slabs and add feet to them.
