Threw my first pots in almost 8 months, used my mixed clay blend with course grog and chicken grit. Made 3 vases! felt good.

Just found a dynamite use for trimming tools...cleaning the inside and carving the outside of Jack-O-Lanterns...

Finished writing my article for PMI. Pieces selling well and I need to send more shipments to galleries. Back to throwing.

still haven't had a chance to make any cone 10 stuff but I'll get there. Maybe we can go in the spring for a change?

Spent the last few days writing a clay chemistry specific  "glossary of terms." If someone would be kind enough to stop by an uncross my eyes, much appreciated.

Over this past weekend I had a conversation with a woman who’s dad has mild dementia. It was at a sale I was doing and she literally jumped when she saw my porcelain polar bears. They are just little standing bears, nothing spectacular. She told me her dad and her have gone on yearly vacations since her mum passed away a few years back. In the spring she is taking him to the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat where they care for orphaned or injured bears. She said he has always loved polar bears but with his dementia his memory is slipping so she bought him a bear to put beside his bed to remind him of the trip they will be taking. Thought it was really touching and appreciated that she took the time to tell me the story even though it made her cry.

sleet , high winds and snow last night. Rain this afternoon and then more snow tomorrow. Planning to fire obvara on Tuesday.
 
 

It is snowing hard for 2 days in the US NE and more tomorrow.  NH people trying to get to NCECA are facing cancelled and sold out flights--bummer. I'm not going-my good news is I got my computer back.
 

Feeling good--encouragement is good---I made a comment, with some pics of a greenware vase, on my FB page, that I am going to do "before and after" shots of some pieces and got a bunch of positive feedback in PMs (these are people who know nothing about clay and know me or just like my posts). Made for a nice day.

snow storm yesterday and today. I will quit shoveling until it stops except for  path for my dog.
 

Well, it is Christmas Day. Had family in Jordan and South Korea finishing their Masters. Between that and passing the flu around for months: today is Christmas.
