Benzine
You think microwaving in your manganese wares is bad Bruce, what about the uranium based glazes on the Fiestaware?
Nancy S.
I've seen some previously frozen clay that had fractured. If I wedge it does it go back to normal? My clay freezes every winter. I wedge it up (after it's thawed, of course) and it's fine for my purposes, but I know people who pug it if it has frozen/thawed.
oldlady
if clay is fresh out of the bag and harder than you like, put it back in the bag and drop it onto a hard floor a few times. it should soften up nicely. if you are going to put it through a slab roller, slap a fat slice of it onto the floor (canvas target helps keep it clean) and turn it over to slap it down again. it should stretch and soften so you get a nice slab the first time.
