Hello, everyone this is my first time for post the topic. Please help advise.

If I use manganese 20% + copper oxide 20% into base transparent glaze(with out lead) and brush outside of mug only for decoration. My questions is...

1.  This metal glaze is food safe or not? I fired at 1260 degree celsius.

2.  If not, if I use only outside of mug only for decoration... would it be safe?

3. How can I use metal glaze which is be safe for food? (meant other oxide or receipt?)

4. If I use Ferric as over oxide instead, is it work?

Thank you very much.

Tom Colemans high manganese glaze is food safe -he had it tested as he sold it to a large dinnerware company who did a though workup on its safety .Its was also a cone 10 glaze

It has no copper in it. I would approach your color problem with mason stains as Min suggested.
