Maree
Help. All my turquoise and green glazes are coming out shiny copper. I’m using a converted electric kiln with a gas burner and reducing in paper in a trash can. Why have I lost my colours?
davidh4976
If you are talking about glazes with copper carbonate in them, that's what it does. Copper comes out green in oxidation and red in reduction. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your situation, and it could help if you have more info on the glazes and when they come out green. Min
Hi and welcome to the forum. Im guessing you are raku firing? If you want less copper colour from you green glazes then when you remove the raku pots from the kiln either reduce them far less or just let them cool without putting them in the reduction chamber.
