olaff40 Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Greetings! I am absolutely loving my Nomad 3 and am slowly learning how to use it. Now, I need to make some of these gear-looking things. I’ve pretty much finalized the size and shape using 1/4" thick PVC. Now I would like to cut these out of machinable ceramic, like this one https://www.mcmaster.com/2145t24/ Any tips/tricks for me? Feeds and speeds, special cutters, etc. Thank you! Greg Quote
Hulk Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 The Nomad 3 is desktop vertical milling machine? Nomad Desktop CNC (carbide3d.com) I'm curious what the shape is for. As for machining the material (aka "Macor"), likely you've already seen these: Macor Machining Guide (precision-ceramics.com) Machining-MACOR.pdf (corning.com) Can the Nomad 3 accommodate a spray mist coolant setup?
