Con que se puede sustituir el carbonato de bario. He leido algo que quizas con carbonato de magnesio pero cual seria la proprcion. Es por el tema de toxicidad para vajillas

Translation: With which barium carbonate can be replaced. I have read something that maybe with magnesium carbonate but what would be the proprcion. It's because of the issue of toxicity for tableware

It all depends on how much barium you’re trying to replace and why it’s in the recipe. Large amounts of barium can be used to create a matte surface, and it also gives some glazes a distinct colour response, especially in reduction firings. Are you able to share the recipe and let us know what you need the glaze to look at?

I substitute strontium carbonate for barium carbonate, 0.75 grams strontium carbonate per gram of barium carbonate in the original recipe.  You will probably have to adjust this a bit, and you will see some shifts in color of the glaze.  Strontium is non-toxic, as opposed to barium.
