Robert Marx
I recently purchased the glaze inventory of a potter who had passed. There is one brown powder that is labeled "GC715." Does anyone know what this might be? If so, is it food safe?
Min
Hi Robert and welcome to the forum. This is a long shot but it could be "New Albany Brown" cone 5-6 glaze from Continental clay. I googled the "GC715" and this link came up. I'ld try mix up a couple teaspoons of it with water and dip a test tile. Fire it to cone 5-6, in a saucer in case it runs, and see what you get.
