Metal for Kiln Chimney cover?

It seems the metal I used to cover my gas reduction kiln chimney from rain has disappeared, not sure how as it's dark while I'm firing, I just noticed it's gone.

It's been windy recently and it was looking very corroded.

I'd used corrugated metal roofing sheet, which has lasted a couple of years but there must be better options?

What metal, I'm thinking 3mm steel checker plate?

Double wall stainless all fuel chimney pipe comes in numerous diameters (up to 14" I believe). Great thing is that they have rain caps in numerous styles (w/wo spark arrestors) that fit on there with a simple twist. The rate at which non stainless metals degrade on gas kiln chimneys, there's almost no point to installing them because you'll be back up there before too long replacing them. Ive been very happy with the Selkirk branded chimney pipe.
