Mythicalfern
Good morning I am looking at switching clay and I am testing Standard 211 Hazelnut Brown and 266 Dark Brown. I am hoping to make some vases (to hold water) and since the absorption rate on both is pretty low on both I am going to give them a try. My question is, does anyone have a recipe or ideas on a good white matte or semi gloss opaque that has a good fit with either of these clay bodies that I can do some inital testing with? Thank you and have a beautiful day - Leigh
Pres
I have been using a glossy clear liner glaze from Mastering Cone 6. I modify it with a combination of zircopax, tin and rutile. The combination gives me a bright buttery white that I use over SC 211, Hazelnut brown and SC 630. The glaze is very stable, durable and works quite well with washes or other glazes painted or sprayed on over top. best, Pres

carissman
I use Amaco HF-11 on 266. Careful about a slow bisque, and then no (significant) pinholes.
