Camila PM
Hi! I want to get a gas kiln that can run on propane around 7-8 cu ft. that can easily get to cone 10. I was looking into Geil kilns but they are much bigger. Do you have any recommended option? I also looked into Olympic kilns but read that their finishes are not that good. Any other options? Mark C.
West coast kilns (used),Laguna kilns-new and used Bailey kilns-Geil kilns are very well made. 12 cubic is about as small as most make The size you are looking at is an electrioc kiln size which are very hard to control with gas. Piedmont Pottery
Olympic makes updraft gas kilns in that size range. It can be rather difficult to get uniform temperatures top to bottom, though possible.
neilestrick
If you're handy, build your own electric-to-gas conversion. THIS blog shows a good way of doing it. Otherwise look at Geil. They make a gas kiln with 8 cu/ft of stacking space.
