Where to buy these specific lamp fixture pieces? Gold ring?

Recommended Posts

They are called vase caps. As Neil suggested, grandbrass is my go-to for lamp making supplies. They come in various diameters and profiles (flat, domed) so you either need to know exactly what size and shape you need after your lamp base comes out of the kiln, or get several in different sizes to fit whatever the kiln gives you. And then you need to devise some sort of inner bracket to screw the threaded pipe against so the lamp socket, etc. is held upright firmly in place.

The quality of fittings and sockets at Grand Brass are a million times better than the kits they sell at hardware stores, and very reasonably priced. They have all sorts of parts that are handy for all sort of projects. I even used lamp parts from them to build my banjo:

And not to put too fine a point on it, Grandbrass has all the stuff you need to properly fit a lamp fixture (e.g., inserts for the threaded pipe to protect the wire, strain relief for the cord, etc.) that the hardware store kits just don't include.
