jeanniebe
I have a virtually new Paragon 2.0 electric kiln. It's 15 years old, but only run a half dozen times. It's always been stored inside a school, the control panel and elements look good. It won't heat above 1870. It has a computerized programming set up. It doesn't abort or show any kind of error--just keeps trying to go up endlessly. ??????
Babs
Turn it on high for 5-10 mins. Open lid to see if all elements glowing. A starting place.
neilestrick
Could be a dead relay or a dead element, or simply a fried wire connection somewhere in the system. Do like Babs says and see if all the elements glow. If any are out, then unplug the kiln and open the panel and see if there are any fried connections. If it's just one element, you'll need to determine if the element is bad, or if the relay that powers it is bad. Typically relays feed two elements, though. What model is the kiln? There should be a serial plate on the control panel that says what it is.
