Loumar
Question : My KS kiln 714 with and environment is firing to bisque 04 in just 6 hours or less. The load isn't large, just 3-4 pieces distributed on 2 shelves. Could the small chamber and distribution of pieces be why ? The settings are : Low for 2 hrs, Med. for 2 hrs, then High for 2 or until shut off. I'm using a 04 pyrometric bar. Ideas ? Thanks!
Bill Kielb
Yes, it has plenty of power to get there. I would Try low 3 hours, med 3 hours, then high. See where that gets ya.
Sorcery
Yes to the title! I made the mistake of firing a Raku Kiln a couple times to learn my burner. Ended up sending me down a "do it fast" s-hole I'm just digging out of with my last firing. 18hours! Longest yet, and best! I am tryin to have at least one pot in the Kiln for every hour, that way I can calculate costs better. One more hour per pot. Try to fire more and slower for efficiency sake. The slower your elements heat and cool the better. Use them to the fullest! Sorce
