Giggles
I am new to ceramics. I made a beautiful salad bowel and I love it but am afraid I going to ruin it when I glaze it. Want it white but also want my texture to show up. Any suggestions? Cone 5/6 glazed only please.
Min
Hi Giggles and welcome. Are you looking for a commercial glaze or a recipe? Oxidation? Dark clay or light? Opaque white, gloss? I would strongly suggest making up some test tiles with the same texture on them to try out any possible glazes before committing your salad bowl. Diffferent colorations and tehniques work better on different types of textures.
Chilly
As @Minsays, test, test, test. Tiles with a curve rather that just flat, as the glaze will/may move differently.
