AnneMarieKrogh
I have some coboltoxyde (powder) – and I wanted to brush-paint som blue motives on my clay with it (guess I just add water to the powder...) Can I paint directly on the clay? and should it be on greenware or bisque fired? And then use a transparant glaze in the end? Best Regards Anne-Marie (yup... I am new to this :))
liambesaw
I mix oxide powder with frit about 50:50 and then hydrate with vegetable glycerin, I find it leaves a nicer line than painting with oxide+water. You can paint it on top of glaze or under. If I'm going to do it under I usually do it before I bisque.
Babs
it may cause bleeding of design depending on glaze used. It is a strong colour it can be toned down by adjusting the ratio above or adding some iron oxide for a softer blue. Just water is fine for mixing. Be sure to stir for each brush load.
